Selling process

Deciding to move is the first step in an exciting journey, but it can feel complex and overwhelming!

With over 15 years of experience in shared ownership, we can guide you through the process from start to finish in selling your part buy, part rent home.

Step 1

Valuation

Once you’ve decided you want to sell, the first step is to arrange for a valuation report from a RICS qualified surveyor. These are normally valid for 3 months and it is likely that you will need to have the valuation updated during the sale to ensure that it is in date at the time of completion.

Step 2

The Housing Association will have a “nomination” period in which to try to sell your home. This can vary but may be around 4 weeks.

In the event that they are unable to find a buyer in their exclusivity period, the property can then be sold on the open market using an estate agent of your choice.

The value of your home will likely continue to be determined by the RICS valuation so keep that in mind!

Step 3
